Introducing the first episode of Mike Riddle’s new webisode series entitled ‘Pipedreams’. Follow him around the world for a behind-the-scenes look at life as a professional skier on the competition circuit. See how having a national team has changed or not changed the way that he and his teammates approach the sport. With guest appearances by the rest of the Canadian Halfpipe team and fellow pro skiers throughout the course of the season, it will definitely be something worth watching!

Watch and study the video that was shot at Momentum this summer below, and the first person to correctly name ALL of the people in the video wins. You may enter as many time as like, and you must submit your answers in this thread (and all names must be in one post). Moustache rides to those that qualify!

The contest is open for one week, and ends on Monday, December 5th, at which point the winner will be announced. This contest is just for fun and all about raising awareness for Movember and its fight to battle Prostate Cancer, but prizes rule, so the winner will receive a $100 discount off of camp next summer.

This summer TJ Schiller and Momentum teamed up to bring you the TJ Schiller 1620 Contest. In which Facebook provided a battlefield of epic proportion! Through a series of questions, contestants rapidly answered, and accumulating points trying to reach a total of 1620 points. It was a tight game, until Patrick Hughes won the ‘Look-a-like’ photo component, from there he quickly achieved the required 1620 points to clam the victory.
~It was later found that his computer no longer functioned properly due to the repeated reloading of Momentum’s Facebook page.

As listed, Patrick won;

TJ’s signed some swag and we’re going to give it away through a little trivia contest. Your job is to watch the video and answer questions on Facebook!

Adult Week was a great success this year! With as usual during this session an almost exclusive run of the glacier as most other camps have ended.

During the day off between camps an entire new Mogul course was built from scratch…

600 perfectly made bumps were created by 10 skiers in 4 hours!

Freeride

The Freeride campers started out with a few bruises…

…but after some inspiration form Dave Crichton, the rails were on lock-down!

Confidence was boosted as any imaginable trick could be tested into the Airbag!

Once tricks were landed into the Airbag, the next step was to take them to the Jumps!

After conquering the park…

…some of the group headed over to the Whistler Bungee to conquer any lingering fear of heights, by jumping off a 160 foot bridge!

plus found some other ways to to play with gravity…

Then came the Night Life

The week started out civilized with…

Lovely glasses of wine at Quattro’s Restaurant, 21 Steps, …

…then we went to Sushi Village…Sake Margaritas started the night off!

Then the Dumbos came out! John pouring while absorbing and knee rolling!

…and then shirts started coming off…

…and that meant only one thing……we’re off to the bar!

Conveniently located directly across from Sushi Village was the Longhorn!

The boys were hauled off the stage so the Miss Trail Bunny 2011 Contest could take over – with all proceeds going to Canadian Spinal Cord Research

The 22 Foot Halfpipe plus Airbag was in full use this week!

With ski Halfpipe firmly in the Olympics, the 22 foot halfpipe into Bagjump received a lot of use also from the Canadian, French and New Zealand National teams!

Canadian Team, lead by Trennon Paynter, included Justin Dorey, Sarah Burke, Mike Riddle, Matt Margetts, Roz G and Megan Gunning.

A day in the life of a Momentum Contest Winner…

The winner of the TJ Schiller 1620 Contest, Patrick Hughes, was delighted to find over $2,000 worth of swag and TJ Schiller himself when he walked into the office this week!  New pair of Nordica Ace of Spades signed by TJ Schiller, a HD GoPro, a Skullcandy Swag pack, a Nike Golf bag, and bunch of Momentum Swag!

…then they went golfing at the world class Whistler Golf Club!

School was finally out for all campers, so this was our biggest session and drew all the Top names in the biz as coaches. It also featured our Special Girls week, the Splashdown water ramp event  and to top it off, the amazing snow conditions and weather added to the success of this session.

There was a huge buzz around Alex Bilodeau this week.  Especially when he brought a little golden gift by the office.

The camper’s all got a chance to check out and hold the medal!

Lead by Sarah Burke and Tami Bradley along with the rest of the female coaching crew –  Roz G, Dania Assaly, Kristy Leskinen and Chelsea Henitiuk, Girls Week was a huge success! The girls had their own afternoon shoot, special additional activities and some real bonding time!

Session 2 was unreal! We were stoked to welcome Simon Dumont & Alex Schlopy to our coaching squad this session. We also built and added the new 24′ Skullcandy Stairset plus we dialed in our 22 foot Halfpipe into BagJump!

Coaches Rory Bushfield, Tim Russell, James “Woodsy” Woods, Colby James West, Simon Dumont, Alex Schlopy, Chris Wong, Andrew Clough, Tami Bradley, and Eddie Hicks had a super fun week with all the campers. There were laughs, high fives, and a crazy competition!

The coach’s sale was slammed with everyone picking up cheap swag and collecting autographs!

Session 1 has been an awesome week and kicked off Momentum’s 20^th Anniversary year in style – new features, inspiring coaches and amazing snow conditions ensured this week was a blast.

International Superpipe builder Tyson Goodrich has completed his masterpiece sculpture at Momentum Ski Camps. ‘The 22’ Halfpipe into BagJump’s 50×50 Airbag’. It will be the training ground for The Canadian Halfpipe Team (Justin Dorey, Mike Riddle, Sarah Burke, Roz G, Matt Margetts, Trennon Paynter) and since this team happens to be part of our coaching crew will be the perfect setting to teach the new generation of aspiring Olympians.

“We are stoked to have added the 22′ Superpipe to our terrain park this summer.” says Camp Director John Smart. “It will add an unprecedented level of safety to halfpipe progression and is a great training tool for our up and coming campers along with the Canadian National Team who will be coaching them, as well as training themselves on this unique feature.”

Coaches Rory Bushfield, Tim Russell, James “Woodsy” Woods, Colby James West, Chris Wong, Andrew Clough, and Tami Bradley kept energy levels high and inspired campers young and old to push their limits and reach their goals.

The finale on Session 1 was capped off by a daring young lady, who won the SKOAKLEY  (Skullcandy & Oakley) Challenge . An intense competition full of physical tests, team work and personal determination…

New Staircase Feature:
Skullcandy and Momentum have just confirmed they are collaborating on a new Stairset feature, to be installed this weekend.  This will be no ordinary staircase! stay tuned for the latest images.
